Did you know that Webster composts almost 4,000 pounds of food waste each month? That means 1.5 tons of CO2 emissions are avoided, which is the equivalent of taking four cars off the road for a year.
That is only part of the efforts of the Webster University community to make the world a better place. At the University’s upcoming conference, “Demystifying Sustainability: The Impact of the Individual,” learn more about what others are doing to improve and sustain our planet.
The conference will be held on Saturday, October 8, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the East Academic Building on the Webster Groves campus.
Catherine Werner, who serves as the Director of Sustainability for the City of St. Louis, will give the keynote address. The day will also include panels, breakout sessions, and presentations by local food providers, environmental professionals, urban ecology experts, and others.
