Webster University Chess Team: Five’s A Charm

Webster University’s chess team one its fifth consecutive national championship at the 2017 President’s Cup Collegiate Chess Tournament in New York City. Webster School of Education Among Best In Missouri

Webster University’s School of Education is doing an outstanding job turning out graduates who are prepared to handle the K-12 classroom, according to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). In its Annual Performance Report for Educator Preparation Programs, DESE rated all of the SOE programs “Tier One,” the highest score possible.

Biology Department Is One of 14 Research Groups Selected For Prestigious Research Opportunity

Selected for Cohort 9 of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s SEA-PHAGES program, Webster University undergrads will engage in a discovery-based curriculum relating to viruses that infect bacteria, which are known as “phages.”

SEA-PHAGES stands for Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science.

The program will teach students to computationally analyze the viral genomes for annotation and comparative genomics. For more information about the program and teaching schedule, visit here.
