Kemper Award Nominations Are Now Being Accepted

Do you know a faculty member who is an extraordinary teacher or mentor, someone who goes out of their way to help their students and fellow faculty and staff? Then take a few moments and nominate them for the 2018 Kemper Award.

Funded by the William T. Kemper Foundation, this award recognizes faculty members who demonstrate teaching at its finest. Up to four Kemper Awards will be presented: two full-time faculty members on the home campus will each receive a $10,000 award, and two adjunct faculty members (all campuses and online) will each receive a $5,000 award.

After 35-years Fyfe Retires As Dean of the School of Education

After 35-years of distinguished service to Webster University, Brenda Fyfe, dean of the School of Education will step down on December 31. During her 15-year tenure as Dean, she helped strengthen community partnerships and attract millions of research dollars to the university.

With Fyfe’s retirement, the university announced that Thomas Cornell, associate professor and chair of the Language, Literacy and Leadership Department has been named interim dean for the School of Education. DJ Kaiser, associate professor and program director for the MA in Teaching English as a Second Language, has been named associate dean on an interim basis.

New Dean of University Libraries Announced

Eileen Condon has been named the new dean of University Libraries. Condon takes over for Laura Rein who retires at the end of the year. Condon began her career at Webster University in 1992.
