Monitor Progress: Cost Containment Implementation Teams Continue to Meet
As many may recall, “Implementation Teams” were established at the end of the last school year to explore revenue-producing and cost-containment ideas for Webster University. The groups are composed of volunteer faculty and staff members and met several times before the end of the school year and over the summer.
To take a look at the current status of these groups, please log into “Connections” and follow these instructions:
- Click on the staff or faculty tab
- Click on “World Classroom” on the left side of the page
- Once there, click on the University Steering Committee. Currently, this tab gives the progress report of the implementation team as of July 31, 2018.
Webster Groves Tobacco-Free Campus Begins August 15
After a 2015 Student Government Association referendum requesting a smoke free campus, a task force was created to study the issue and gather the opinions of students, faculty, and staff with a survey. After several meetings, a 2018 implementation date was decided upon.
Accordingly, on August 15, all uses of tobacco (cigars, cigarettes, pipes, hookahs, all forms of smokeless tobacco, clove cigarettes), smoking devices (vapor and electronic cigarettes), oral tobacco (spit and spitless chew and snuff), and nasal tobacco are prohibited in all indoor/outdoor areas of campus, including parking lots and vehicles.
