Don’t Forget Fall Convocation Tomorrow (Thursday, August 23) at 1 p.m.

Take a look here for details about Fall Convocation for faculty and staff, which will be held tomorrow (Thursday, August 23) at 1 p.m. at the Loretto Hilton Center in the main auditorium. Also, prior to the event, please plan on attending a luncheon for faculty and staff, which will be held in the Grant Gymnasium from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

International Students Orientation Information and Services
Webster University is currently welcoming students from 28 countries and the Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs (MCISA) ensures that each student understands all of the resources at his/her disposal for a smooth transition into his/her academic year. In addition to extending these students a warm Webster welcome, take note of the resources that the university offers to help them with their transition. A list of services that includes an orientation website, online orientation schedules, and a local resource guide can be found in this article.

Academic Resource Center (ARC): A Resource for Faculty, Staff and Students
From tutoring and writing assistance for students to helping faculty members assist students with adapting to change in college or developing tangible study plans for finals, the ARC can help. Check out the following article that outlines all of the ARC’s services for faculty and students alike.

Applications Now Being Accepted for the 2018-19 Adjunct Faculty Development Funds

If you are interested in applying for a grant from the Academic Development Fund, please visit here for application details and guidelines. The application period closes on September 17, 2018. Fund requests should be for activities occurring during the period June 1, 2018, through May 31, 2019.

The fund, which was introduced by the Office of the Provost in 2015, is intended to support eligible adjunct faculty and their pursuit of professional development, professional travel and research activities.

Help With A Chapter of Webster’s History: Suggest a Commencement Speaker for 2019

In May 2019, Webster University will hold its 100th Commencement Ceremony. With that in mind, the Honorary Degree Committee is seeking suggestions for honorary degree recipients and commencement speakers. The deadline for submission is Friday, September 21, 2018.
