If so, take a moment and nominate them for a Dean’s Award for Service, which recognizes student volunteer efforts on or off campus. You’ll find the nomination forms here. Holiday Parties: Walker School Hot Chocolate with the Dean, President and Provost Holiday Party
On Tuesday, December 4, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., stop by the Edward Jones Commons in the East Academic Building, enjoy some holiday hot chocolate, and visit with Walker School Dean Simone Cummings, President Beth Stroble, Provost Julian Schuster and your colleagues. For details, visit here
In addition, all faculty and staff are invited to come by the Edward Jones Commons on Friday, December 7 at 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and join President Beth Stroble and Provost Julian Schuster to celebrate the holiday season. Canned food, personal care items or cash donations brought to this year’s holiday party will go to the Affton Christian Food Pantry. Food and personal care items are especially needed. Finals Are Coming! Don’t Forget the Academic Resource Center Can Help Students Prepare
With finals just around the corner, don’t forget that the Academic Resource Center (ARC) is again offering study and planning tips for students.
If you have a student or students who may benefit from personalized coaching, encourage them to contact and make an appointment with Lisa Hempen at the ARC. Students can do so through the Student Success Portal. It’s easy – visit the My Success Network, search for “Hempen,” and select Lisa’s name. Peter Sargent to Step Down As Dean of the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts
After 25 years, Dean Peter Sargent will step down as the head of the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts at the end of the 2018-19 academic year. While he is retiring as dean, Sargent will continue on as a faculty member in the College of Fine Arts.
Currently, the college has more than 500 undergraduate students studying majors in the visual arts, dance, music and theater.

Remembering Steve Winter, Chief Human Resources Office
The Webster University community is saddened to learn of the death of Steve Winter, Webster's Chief Human Resources Officer. The diversity of experience he brought to the position helped him quickly establish himself as a trusted and valued colleague. His positive impact increases the sympathy we feel for his family and friends and heightens our sense of loss for a friend and colleague. We will plan to convene as a community to provide opportunity for a time of remembrance for him.
