National Science Foundation (NSF) Awards $124,000 Capacity-Building Grant to Webster University
Webster University was awarded the $124,000 National Science Foundation Noyce Capacity-Building grant, which will be used to encourage talented science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) majors to become teachers in high-need Missouri K-12 schools.

A new program, Webster’s Educating STEM Teachers Bound for Success (WESTbound Success), has been created thanks to the grant, and will start April 1. The College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Education will jointly administer the program and will collaborate with the Walker School’s Department of Math & Computer Science.

Leave A Legacy Re-Design the University’s Seal
All students, faculty and staff are eligible to submit a redesign of the University seal, which was last updated in 1996. The winning redesign will be unveiled at the University’s 100th commencement ceremony, which will take place at the Muny in Forest Park on May 11. The individual who creates the winning seal design will take home a $2,500 prize. For more information, visit here. Design submissions are due on March 18, 2019.

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) Wants to Hear from Faculty/Staff!
The Academic Resource Center (ARC) will hold a series of focus groups for adjunct faculty, along with full time faculty and staff to provide feedback on the ARC’s services. Sessions are scheduled for the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 2-3 p.m. CST
  • Thursday, March 7, 2019, 1-2 p.m. CST
  • Friday, March 22, 2019, 10-11 a.m. CST
All sessions will be held in the Library, Room 315, and WebEx will be available for those who would like to participate remotely.

Please note the ARC staff will also work with faculty and staff who are unable to attend one of the sessions above by arranging additional sessions around availability.
