Tired of the same old routine and looking to connect with other Webster University faculty and staff? Try attending one (or several) upcoming informal and virtual coffee breaks or happy hours using ZOOM, the university’s new teleconferencing service. The gatherings are open to all faculty and staff working throughout the university network and will be hosted by assorted faculty members. Next “Webster Speaks” Series Examines Race Coverage By the Media — August 19
Don’t forget to register for the next “Webster Speaks” event, which will take place on Wednesday, August 19 at 7 p.m. via Webex. Join KMOX-Radio’s Anchor and President, Carol Daniel, and NPR’s TV Critic and author of “Race Baiter: How the Media Wield Dangerous Words to Divide a Nation,” Eric Deggans, as they discuss “How the Media Cover Race.” Hosted by Vincent Flewellen, Webster’s chief diversity officer, the segment will take a look at how the media has covered recent protests and whether Black voices are being amplified in the news and entertainment, among other topics.
