10/1/15 - A Message from the President and Provost

Posted: 10/1/2015 1:24:00 PM

Welcome to Webster University! We hope the semester is progressing smoothly and we are pleased to have you with us.

We look forward to another successful academic year, along with a productive and engaging give-and-take dialogue with all our employees – particularly members of our adjunct faculty. This website will be critical to these efforts. We hope you find the information included helpful.

At the same time, we view this website as a “work in progress.” We very much want to hear your suggestions on how we could make improvements or provide additional helpful information. Please be assured we will make changes based on your feedback. To be an effective tool, this website must be a robust, easy-to-use resource for you.

We do, however, want to draw your attention to the following areas that will be of particular help to you as you teach at Webster:

In addition, if you haven't already, please do not forget to complete your online orientation. If you need access to the material, please email askfdc@webster.edu, they can make sure you are appropriately credentialed and have access to what you need.

Our adjunct faculty are extremely important to the mission and organizational model of Webster University. As one faculty member said last year, “our adjunct faculty members enable theory and practice to come together in the classroom. What results is a dynamic and enriching educational experience.” It’s a curriculum grounded in real world applications combined with rigorous academic preparation. As a member of our faculty, you make this possible.

Your education, experience, and perspective are critical in today’s competitive job market. These are the elements that will position our students for success – whether they are just beginning their professional career or are working to broaden the opportunities available to them through additional education.

We thank you, and we wish you the best.
